Parent Contract

GEILENKIRCHEN ORCAS INTERNATIONAL SWIM TEAM

PARENT CONTRACT

2015/16 SWIM SEASON (SPRING AND FALL)

As the parent(s) of a Geilenkirchen Orcas International Swim Team member, I understand that the Executive Committee reserves the right to make final rulings on team membership/status and I agree to the following:

  1. I understand that swimming is a sport that relies heavily on the efforts and goodwill of parents.  I understand that we are expected to volunteer a minimum of 40 hours during the fall season at home and away meets, for fundraising functions and other events per the Volunteer Agreement.  This allows the Orcas to provide a high quality, competitive swimming program.  This also encourages the generosity of several community organizations.
  1. I will demonstrate appropriate behavior at team events.  I agree that profanity and strong language are unacceptable around children's teams.
  1. I agree to attend General Membership and parent meetings.
  1. I will ensure my swimmer(s) desiring to qualify for high school letters will meet the requirements.  These requirements are outlined under a separate cover as agreed upon by DoDDS, the EFSL, the Executive Committee, and the AFNORTH High School sports program. (FALL SEASON ONLY)
  1. I will ensure my swimmer(s) arrive at all events (practices, meets, bus departures, etc.) on time.  If my swimmer cannot arrive for the warm up prior to the start of an official EFSL meet, I will contact the Coach or Orca Meet Coordinator so that changes in the swim lineup may be made.  I will notify my swimmer's coach in advance of planned absences.
  1. I will abide by the decisions of the coaching staff and Executive Committee.  I understand that I may attend and observe practices, but may not go onto the pool deck unless authorized by a member of the coaching staff.
  1. I will sign my child up for a swim meet according to the Head Coach's guidelines.
  1. I acknowledge that all meet lineups, including relays, will be assigned by the coaching staff.  Swimmers are expected to be willing and available to swim in all relays and should plan to attend the entire meet unless or until they are excused by their coach.  (FALL SEASON ONLY)
  1. I will obtain the permission of the Head Coach and the President to enter my swimmer in official events or invitational events when the team will not be represented as a whole.
  1. I will submit all disputes to the Head Coach or Executive Committee in accordance with the grievance procedures outlined in the Geilenkirchen Orcas International Swim Team By-Laws.
  1. I understand that the team colors are white on black, and that my child will wear white on black suits and caps (eg. team cap) to meets.
  1. I understand I may be asked to host visiting swimmers.  This includes providing accommodations and meals while the swimmer is in my home.  This is a team requirement of the EFSL.  Our swimmers can be provided similar benefits at away meets.  (FALL SEASON ONLY)
